Who we are
The data controller is Chishuru Ltd, 3 Great Titchfield Street, London W1W 8AX, United Kingdom. This booking system is operated for Chishuru by Rooik. For any privacy question or request, write to privacy@rooik.com.
What we collect
Your name, email address and telephone number; the dinner, tables and amount of your booking; the record that your bank transfer was confirmed; and any allergy or dietary information you choose to give us. We do not collect card or bank account details: you pay Lagos Continental Hotel directly from your own bank.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To run your booking (hold your tables, match your payment, send your confirmation, seat you on the night). Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- Allergy and dietary information, which can reveal health or religious information. It is optional, and we use it only to prepare your meal. Legal basis: your explicit consent, which you give by entering it. Only the event administrators and the kitchen see it.
- Marketing, only if you tick a box when you book. There are two separate, optional choices: news from Chishuru, and news from Lagos Continental Hotel. Legal basis: your consent. If you choose the hotel option, we pass your name and email address to Lagos Continental Hotel, which is then responsible for how it uses them. You can withdraw either consent at any time by writing to privacy@rooik.com or by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
- Accounting and legal records of the sale. Legal basis: legal obligation and our legitimate interest in keeping proper records.
Who receives it
- Lagos Continental Hotel, the venue and legal seller, receives the guest list (names, party size, contact details and dietary information) so that it can host the dinner and confirm payments.
- Our service providers, who act only on our instructions: Supabase (database, stored in the United Kingdom), Cloudflare (website hosting) and Resend (sending email).
We never sell your data.
Transfers outside the UK and EEA
The dinners take place in Nigeria, so Lagos Continental Hotel necessarily receives your booking details there. That transfer is necessary to perform the contract you have asked for. Some service providers may process data in the United States under the safeguards in their standard data protection terms.
How long we keep it
We keep booking records until 8 November 2028, two years after the final dinner, and then delete personal data securely, keeping only what the law requires. Marketing consent lasts until you withdraw it.
Your rights
You can ask to see your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to our use of it, to receive it in a portable form, and to withdraw any consent. Write to privacy@rooik.com. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or to your local data protection authority.
